"This is the problem with xG becoming mainstream. So many people just mindlessly throw out the stat without any nuance, thinking it makes them look smart.
This stat is almost worthless, as Fulham had no intention of attacking once we gifted them the goal in the 1st minute. That inherently means that the game state heavily impacts this, and makes the xG stat favour us as we were playing against a team that had no reason to generate any xG for majority of the match. Not to mention that they went down to 10 men too.
Edit: same reason why we "lost" on xG to Forest, we scored 2 relatively low xG goals then shut up shop. Mind you that's an issue in itself, but again it shows how blindly using xG stats from a game to spin a narrative like this is pointless."

    Go Gunners!
