  Nem kötözködésként kérdezem, de egy becenevet (főleg ha hangutánzó szó, mint Biribri) miért kell lefordítani?
  Bár lehet, hogy ez csak engem zavar baromira, mint Kolombusz Kristóf, May (Mai!!!) Károly, Verne Gyula és társaik.
  Én egyébként pont ezért nem fordítok. Kissé perfekcionista vagyok, és ezért utálom, amikor valami elveszik a fordításban (egy mogottes gondolat, egy rezdülés, amit lehet, hogy valaki nem vesz észre, vagy másik nyelvben nem lehet jól kifejezni, lásd a japán honorific-ek, vagy angolban a másodlagos, mögöttes jelentések), az pedig még egy sima esetben (japán - > angol, japán -> magyar) is előfordul, nemhogy egy dupla (japán -> angol -> magyar) fordításnál.
  És az meg egy másik, hogy sajnos számomra a fordítások különösen ellenszenvesek, mióta minden kis hülye tizenegykét éves pisis szarul lefordított meme-eket irogat mindenhova, amikor amúgy azt se tudja, hogy miért vicces. Például azon oldalak közönsége, amik szeretik az eredeti poénokat lefordítani, majd rávarrni egy baromi nagy vízjelet (pl egykutya), mintha az az övék lenne.

  És végezetül álljon itt egy baromi jó kis mű:

  Pronunciation -- think of Psyche!
  Is a paling stout and spikey?
  Won't it make you lose your wits,
  Writing groats and saying grits?
  It's a dark abyss or tunnel:
  Strewn with stones, stowed, solace, gunwale,
  Islington and Isle of Wight,
  Housewife, verdict and indict.

  Finally, which rhymes with enough --
  Though, through, plough, or dough, or cough?
  Hiccough has the sound of cup.
  My advice is to give up!!!
