    Crysis 2 PC Manual Uninstallation

    Deauthorizing/Authorizing a Machine

When the title is uninstalled, the machine will automatically be deauthorized so that the CD-key can be used again (5 uses at a time maximum). If forcing an uninstall, or manually deleting the title, it's possible to deauthorize a machine through the Start menu or the following method:

You must be connected to the Internet in order to deauthorize a machine.
Navigate to the 'bin32' folder in the game installation path.
    Win XP/32 bit OS - 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crysis 2\bin 32\'
A 64 bit OS will point to 'Program Files (X86)'
    Steam - 'C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\crysis 2\bin 32\'
A 64 bit OS will point to 'Program Files (X86)'
    Run the 'activation.exe' program.
Press the 'Deauhtorize this license' button.
A message reading 'Deauthorization successful!' will be displayed.
To confirm the key has been removed, the 'activation.exe' program can run again. If it asks for a serial key than the machine is no longer authorized and the title won't boot.

A machine can be authorised using the same method. If the title has already been uninstalled and the client has a disk, they can run the 'activation.exe' file from there instead of reinstalling. The file path remains the same on disc.

Machines can also be deauthorized through the 'Games Explorer' in Windows 7 by right-clicking the game icon and selecting the 'Crysis 2 - Deauthorize this machine' option. Windows XP users will have a 'Crysis 2 - Deauthorize this machine' option under; 'Start' -> 'Programs' -> 'Electronic Arts' -> 'Crytek' -> 'Crysis 2'.
