    Save and Load a Scan

After the scan of the drive is complete you can save this scan in Step2 for future use. Just click File->Save Recovery and choose a destination. The resulting file will have the extension .ST2.

To load a scan proceed to Step1 and select the drive like you did in the previous run, but click the "Load" button in the bottom left of the screen. That way you don't have to do the scan all over again. This might be useful in case you are not satisfied with the recovery results and want for example choose another file system from the list in Step2.

After clicking Load, select the first option if you want to load a drive scan and rebuilt the file system list. Hit Ok and select the Step1 results file ~GDBSAVE.ST1. This file is created by the program in the default temp directory and contains the most recent scan. You cannot save the Step1 results directly from within GetDataBack, but you can always rename this file to save it for further use.

Select the second option if you want to load a file system list and go directly to Step2. Hit Ok and select the right .ST2 file.

    Save and Load a Recovery

After the recovery tree is complete you can save your recovery for further use in Step3. Just click File->Save Recovery and choose a destination. The resulting file will have the extension .ST3.

To load a recovery proceed to Step1 like you did in the previous run, click the "Load" button in Step1, choose the third option, hit Ok and select the .ST3 file.
