  A hivatalos álláspont, miért nem lehet feltenni a Catalyst-ot Sapphire csomagolású HD 2400 Pro AGP használata mellett:

  Glad that you find the manual way to install the display driver as the installer shares no compatibility with your current device. All current retail packaged AMD Radeon HD graphics cards are manufactured by AMD partners. The card manufacturer (Sapphire in your case) may change or adjust the capabilities or specifications of the graphic card to enhance its efficiency which leads the generic driver from AMD not being able to detect the device correctly. In your case, it is regretfully that the Catalyst software suite seems not compatible with your graphic card but you can still use display driver only without the control center. You have another option is the CD driver from Sapphire which should be the certified compatible one from the manufacturer.
